In plain words
Who is your wife? Who is your son? This saṃsāra is strange beyond measure. Whose are you? Where have you come from? Ponder that truth here, brother.
Who is the wife, and who, again, the son! How strange this saṃsāra is! Whose are you, who are you, where have you come from? Know the truth right here, brother!
Students, embodiments of the sacred Ātma!
For the past eight days, classes have been going on to make plain to you the truth of the Bhaja Govindam ślokas, which Śaṅkara composed and to which his disciples too added. These ślokas of the Bhaja Govindam make clear to us the truth that the essence of all the Vedas, the root of all the śāstras, the key to every dharma, and the goal too of every object in the whole world is nothing but the presence of God, a treasure beyond price. When thick clouds come in the way of the shining sun, the people on the earth cannot see the sun. Just because of that, we cannot say there is no sun. When the breeze from the Malaya hills comes in and pushes that cloud aside, we see the sun. In the same way, because the sun of the Ātma, whose very form is the Ātma, is covered by the clouds of our Ajñāna, man cannot know his own true form and sinks into Ajñāna. At such a time, when the wind called Jñāna blows, these clouds scatter before it, and the radiant Ātma takes on our own true form. In the same way, because man, with worldly feelings bound up with the objects of the senses, forgets the form of the Ātma, eternal Satya, and sinks into the Ajñāna that the world alone is real and eternal, today the winds called Prajñāna, Sujñāna and Vijñāna are most urgently needed; I hope that through those winds we will drive off these clouds of Ajñāna that stand in our way, and so be ready to reach the state of showing forth our own true form.
