In plain words
There and here, it is present as the Ātma. What a fool is the man who fights with the Ātma! Whatever agitation, whatever ill feeling others may come with, we must stay calm and try to set it right, to bring it round onto the right path. The gentler we are, the more fiercely they may fall upon us. But just because they fall upon us, we lose nothing. Only the tree that bears fruit gets the blows of stones. No one strikes a tree that has no fruit. Just when we are good, all sorts of needless things keep falling on us. We must guard our goodness; to lose our way is a great wrong. I hope that you will keep such good qualities, good character, good conduct and this principle of Brahman safe in your hearts, and give fulfilment to what is called humanity.
