In plain words
No: if you say, ‘The Bal Vikas children and my children together make 21,’ how much honour you gain!
Bal Vikas teachers must understand such equal vision. Only then will those Bal Vikas children have more Prema for you than for their mother. All of you have come from abroad. I will tell you another small example. In all the children who come to our Bal Vikas, a feeling forms that we are teachers and that their parents are all at home. They try, thinking, ‘When shall we leave Bal Vikas? When shall we run off to our parents?’ Why? They do so because of the mother's Prema. What is it that pulls their minds towards their home? The mother's Prema alone is the reason. So, we who are Bal Vikas teachers: if we show more Prema than a mother's Prema, these children will not go to their mother. They will come to us alone. There is a line four inches long. To make that four-inch line shorter, you need not rub it out. If you draw a line of eight inches beneath it, the four-inch line becomes shorter. So, the mother's Prema is a four-inch line; if our Prema has grown into an eight-inch line, since it is more than the mother's Prema, those children will always stay with you. Only when we increase this Prema will it be possible to wipe out the unrest, the wrongdoing, the corrupt ways and the untruth that have arisen in the world now. But if we go on loving a little selfishly, this unrest cannot lessen at all. So, as much as unrest has grown, so much Prema must we increase. It is beyond anyone's power to check the unrest in this world. Except by God's will alone.
So, since all of you have taken part in this with divine feeling, with divine Prema and with divine purpose, I hope that by your putting into practice what you have heard, this whole country will be set right through you yourselves.
