Passage 15

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

God alone must be our refuge

To seek one’s own Mukti is selfish; can it be Dharma to wish to cross over oneself alone? To wish that others cross over is good fortune; look closely: he is the true human being.

Rather than the effort to save oneself, to strive to help one's fellow human beings across is like praying to the Lord of all, whose form is all beings together. That is “Through renunciation alone did some attain immortality.” We must be ready for such renunciation.

Today is the last day of our programme. So, even if some matters take more time, we must try to set them right properly. One thing more: we must not depend on disciples. The reason is that when we do, we become their servants. They should become our servants; we must not become theirs. We must be the servants of One alone, of God alone! For the growth of our āśramas and for their proper upkeep we must rely on God alone. If we truly go on doing our duty, no obstacle will come to our work. We will lack nothing.

Selfless, pure Prema is Sai's wealth

Embodiments of Prema! You may believe it or you may not: I Myself am the truth of it. I Myself am the proof! This body has begun its sixty-first year. In all this time, never for even half a moment have I held out my hand before anyone.
