In plain words

Students and teachers, embodiments of Prema!

At this time, when in Bhārata, the abode of the wealth of the spirit, of Dharma and of morals, the tendencies of injustice, wrongdoing, ill conduct, Asatya, adharma and the demonic are dancing the dance of dissolution, it is students who are able to spread in society, by living them out, the human qualities called Satya, Dharma, Śānti and Prema. The students of Bhārata today study only worldly learning, and not the learning of the highest truth. The philosophy of Bhārata, the dhārmic doctrines of Bhārata, its culture and traditions, are not understood by them. As far as they are advancing materially, so far are they falling behind spiritually. There is no gain in learning worldly knowledge alone.

Duties done with the will to give up the fruit of karma are the true karma

Bhārata is the birthplace of the spiritual outlook. The Veda, the root and ground of the culture of Bhārata, which is whole and endless, the sage Vyāsa divided in three: the karma-kāṇḍa, the upāsanā-kāṇḍa and the jñāna-kāṇḍa. These are called the three kāṇḍas, the three yogas.

There is nothing special in merely doing karma. Even birds, beasts and animals do karma. If you want purity of mind, you must give up the fruit of karma. ‘One who does karma, free of attachment’: so said the Teacher of the Gītā. All karma must be done for the pleasure of the Paramātma. Duties done with the will to give up the fruit of karma are the true karma. By doing karma with a wish for its fruit, tyāga, yoga and kṣema are moving far away. Karma must be done for purity of mind alone. By karma comes purity of mind, by upāsanā one-pointedness of mind, by Jñāna Ānanda.
