Passage 5

In plain words

Educational institutions must not be businesses

Today's educational institutions are no longer homes of Sarasvatī; they have turned into temples of Lakṣmī. Money for everything, admission included. But in our university, from the first class up to the Ph.D., not one paisa is taken as a fee. Educational institutions must not be businesses. They must flourish as true centres of learning and knowledge. Only then will children have a good future. The education they have received will be of use to society. Educated children must go to the villages and help the poor. They must teach the rules of health. They must try to wean people from bad habits. For that they will have to make sacrifices themselves. Moral, dhārmic and spiritual karma must always be done with the aim of helping others. Even if you do someone no good, you must never do him harm. Before telling others, you must yourself earn the right and the fitness for it.

God is in every being

The power of the Paramātma is in everyone. Without it, we could not even speak. Those who say God does not exist must have seen God, just as much as those who say He does. Here is an example. One who has seen a glass on the table says, ‘There is a glass.’ If it is taken away and someone else is asked, he says, ‘There is none.’ Surely the one who says there is none must have seen the glass, just as the one who said there is one saw it! Only if atheists see God can they know anything about God. The healthy can enjoy the sweetness in a sweet, but those with diabetes cannot even taste it. Only if you taste it do you know. Those who say there is no God cannot exist in the world at all. For he himself is God. To say there is no God is as good as saying he himself does not exist! God is in every being. How then is it possible to say He does not exist? Never lend an ear to such untrue words.
