In plain words
Embodiments of Prema!
I am beyond place, time and circumstance. You are the ones bound by the influence of place, time and circumstance. I have brought you here to teach you the true meaning of this. As each one tells us one thing and another, wisdom dawns in us. Only when we put these to use at the right time do we get the right result. ‘Whatever I say, you think Kṛṣṇa says it out of kindness and Prema,’ said Kṛṣṇa to Dharmaja. Because of your bodily nature, you may cast My words aside.
All the fruits of karma come about by God's command
All the fruits of karma come about by God's command alone, not through others. We must make this faith firm. ‘Without Your will not even a blade of grass stirs …’ Bhīṣma taught Dharmaja the experience of a housewife. In this way Kṛṣṇa kept having others teach Dharmaja. Take a piece of iron. We want to make it into swords or bows. As long as it is black and hard, it will not yield, however strong the man who comes and strikes it with a hammer. But when it is heated in the fire and made red-hot, it yields even when a weak man strikes it. So you must strike it as the time demands. While the heart is hard, it will not yield even if God comes and speaks to it. But when it has come to ripeness, it yields whoever strikes it. There are many who were changed on hearing the philosophical songs that madmen sing as they wander about.
