In plain words
This harmony and coordination are seen most strikingly in games and in physical exercise.
Strength of body and purity of mind are needed
Through exercise and through games there are many opportunities to gain strength for the body, a pure humanness, and health as well. Man is not merely a gross form. He has another form as well, a subtle one. That is Manas. Purity of mind means achieving mental purity, the divinity of one's conduct and the spotlessness of the heart. Only when man takes on a form that is pure in body and in mind, sacred, spotless, steady and selfless, can he secure peace and security for himself. So man has the duty, above all, to achieve strength of body and purity of mind. Whatever resolve, whatever vow, whatever skill a student adopts in his games to win the highest prize and the highest place, that same resolve, care and vow he will have to bring to every field as well.
Among these, what must be achieved above all in the moral and spiritual fields is this purity. In this world man offers many kinds of thanks for even the smallest favour. Should we not show our gratitude to the Paramātma, who bestowed on us the principle of the five elements, which in so many ways are the support of life and the help that protects it in every way? The water we drink, the air we breathe, the earth we live on, and the many conditions that make life possible are all God's gracious gifts. However many pump sets one installs and works, can they ever equal a single downpour? However many kinds of hand fans one waves, can they match the breeze from the Malaya hills? However many powerful bulbs we put up, can they stand beside the light of the sun? Today we forget the Divinity that grants us the sun, the moon and the rest, which give light to the world, and the wind and the rains, which give life to every being; we put our faith in petty pleasures and are trying to make our humanness altogether meaningless.
