In plain words
Truth is one not two. Satya is not only telling what you have seen as you saw it, saying what you said as you said it, and what you did as you did it. In this world, which is the very form of Satya, we must spread Satya. Above all, Prema is most essential. If we cultivate this principle of Prema, everything else merges into it. In every sādhana, Prema is the chief life-breath. If we cannot cultivate this principle of Prema, there is no use in being human. That Prema itself is God. That is why: Love is God, live in love, start the day with love, spend the day with love, fill the day with love, end the day with love. We must develop this principle of Prema. We must take part in service free of Ahaṅkāra. Because we forget our divinity, we are sinking into wretchedness. Only when we never forget our divinity will our life attain happiness and Śānti.
What is the cause of the human body? Karma is the cause. What is the cause of this karma? Only feeling is the cause. What is the cause of this feeling? Character is the cause. What is the cause of this character? That itself is what one is due to receive; that itself is fortune. So if our fortune is to be good, our quality must be good. If this quality is to be good, our feeling must be good. If feeling is to be pure, actions must be done purely. If action is to become pure, the resolve must be right. So resolve is the root and base of everything. The whole world is filled with resolve. “Manomūlam idaṃ jagat.” Everything is made of the mind. What is this? (Showing a handkerchief) A piece of cloth. But it is not cloth. It is a coming together of threads. Not threads: cotton. Without cotton there is no thread. Without thread it could not become cloth. The three come together and are one. In the same way, out of resolves the thread called desires is made. By this thread called desires the cloth called the mind is made. So the mind is the woven form of these desires. Now if we do not want to have this cloth, remove the threads one by one and there is no cloth.
