In plain words

He wore the earrings of the sun. He had all the strength and power he needed. Without the strength of God, what became of a man as great as Karṇa in the end? A small example of this. A child was born to Balarāma and Revatī. Her name was Śaśikaḷā. Balarāma, from the very first, meant to give her in marriage to Lakṣmaṇa, the son of Duryodhana. Duryodhana's son was Lakṣmaṇakumāra. From the very beginning Balarāma had been teaching this Lakṣmaṇakumāra every skill. With a little smile, Kṛṣṇa said: “There is no match at all between this Śaśikaḷā and Lakṣmaṇa. Those two will never suit each other. It is not good for you to lay plans like this in advance,” He said. “Well, it is only my younger brother talking,” thought Balarāma, and he went on ignoring it. A turn of events began. The Pāṇḍavas all went to their life in the forest. Only Draupadī went with them all. Neither Subhadrā nor Abhimanyu went to the forest. They stayed in Dvārakā itself. While over there Balarāma taught Lakṣmaṇakumāra the skills of weapons, here Kṛṣṇa taught Abhimanyu the skills of weapons. Looked at in this way, Duryodhana and Arjuna had no connection of any kind. They are like east and west. Balarāma teaching here and Kṛṣṇa teaching skills there are like north and south. If east and west are to meet, north and south keep getting in the way. If north and south are to meet, east and west keep getting in the way. There can be no match between these two at all. In this state of things, one day Balarāma set aside Kṛṣṇa's words and fixed the auspicious hour. For marrying Śaśirekhā to Lakṣmaṇakumāra. At such a time no one can say how the will of God will change, in which minute. Ghaṭotkaca, the son of Bhīma, changed all the thoughts of that Lakṣmaṇakumāra within a single night. Here, he changed Śaśikaḷā's mind completely. “I do not want Lakṣmaṇakumāra,” said Śaśikaḷā. “This Śaśikaḷā is the same as a sister to me; I do not want her,” said Lakṣmaṇakumāra. Balarāma had fixed this auspicious hour, meaning to see it through. Then, with no way left, Balarāma came to his younger brother. “Gopāla! In this matter there is no one but You to help me.” Kṛṣṇa then said, “Balarāma, not in this matter alone but in everything, you have no one but Me. Your child's wedding must take place within this auspicious hour. I have not looked anywhere, have I? I have not enquired of anyone, have I? How can it happen within this hour! Leave it to Me, I will see to it,” He said. “All right: whether she is my child or Your child, it is all one. You Yourself complete it,” he said. Balarāma. Kṛṣṇa ran to the house. The wedding pavilion is ready. The priests have come. Everything is ready. Kṛṣṇa brought Abhimanyu by one hand and Śaśikaḷā by the other. Subhadrā said: “Kṛṣṇa! You are doing this at a time when the father is not here!” she said. Abhimanyu said, “Mother!
