In plain words

So long as we do not understand this principle of Prema that is within us, we cannot escape fear.

Only when we gain that Prema does this fear leave us. A small example. A man travelling by train buys a ticket and keeps it in his pocket; then, though he sits on a seat in the 3rd class, he has no fear at all. But if he sits in the 1st class without a ticket, fear keeps dogging him. The fear of where the ticket collector will turn up, of where he will catch me, keeps dogging him. What is the reason? Though he sits in the 1st class, why does fear dog him? Only because he has no ticket. In just the same way, so long as we have in our heart the ticket of God called Prema, we have no fear wherever we go.

Life is a journey. At such a time, only when we hold in our hand this eternally true and precious thing called Prema does it give us Ānanda and courage wherever we go, without fear, without doubt, purely and selflessly. Today every man is going through fear of one kind or another. Whatever work he starts, fear dogs him from the beginning; the reason is that he has no Prema for God. If we win that one thing, Prema for God, we shall have won everything. However learned they are, however much luxury and good fortune a man enjoys, however great a scholar he may be, however much he may be rolling in wealth, goods and vehicles, if he has no self-confidence, there is nothing but unrest for him, always. Today self-confidence is vital. Without it we can achieve nothing. We cannot enjoy Ānanda in anything.

It is only by building up desires of many kinds that we fall prey to worries. Today, wherever you look, devotees of wealth are growing in number. But devotees of Hari are nowhere to be seen. Whatever they do, whatever they see, whatever they say, they go on with their selfishness and their own ends in front of them. This is merely passing. So, in our humanness, what we must first recognise and achieve is Prema for God. We must be of one mind. We must be of firm mind. We must be of steady mind. We must have a pure heart. We must spend our life in a selfless spirit.

Once upon a time Uddhava came to Gokula with Kṛṣṇa's message. Here Uddhava is speaking to the Gopīs. How you have let God go and are suffering!
