Passage 3

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

As day comes the moment night is over, as cold comes after heat, so joy too comes close behind sorrow. If you want to attain Ānanda, you must give up sorrow.

The world is not full of hardship. It is pure in itself; we ourselves are polluting it. The sun shines radiantly. The moon gives the light of its moonbeams. But it is we who are polluting it. In running water our reflection looks unsteady. Look at it instead in still, clear water, and our reflection is steady. Keeping the fault in yourself, you must not blame others. When you pray to Vināyaka, hold to a steady Buddhi, a pure Buddhi.
