In plain words
When the cow grazes in the crop, will the calf keep to the bank? That is impossible. When the elders themselves take this wrong road, there is no need to speak of the young women and young men. Leaders, parents and teachers do not set the right example. Why did our forebears win such great renown for their moral values? Their way of Dharma alone. Our forebears believed in the four puruṣārthas fully, practised them, enjoyed them, and shared that joy with all around them. But among the young women and young men of today, they follow a Dharma without head or tail. Dharma, artha, kāma and Mokṣa are the four puruṣārthas. Not believing in the foot, which is Dharma, or the head, which is Mokṣa, they live holding on only to artha and kāma. That is why unrest and insecurity have been growing in society and in the country. What is the root cause of losing peace and security? The root cause of losing peace and security is putting Satya and Dharma out of mind. What must arise in a human being is Satya and Dharma alone.
Students! We must not forget our ancient culture. That alone is the life-breath of the man of Bhārata. The principles that from ancient times have given an example not only to this country but to many countries are the jewels of the people of Bhārata. Only because we have cultivated in this modern age the weakness of mere imitation has the country come down to such a state. Imitation is human. Creation is Divine. For students to make the effort that is needed to bring forth our own divinity: that alone is true education. Fifty years ago, young women and young men had love of the country and, out of love for the culture, followed the footsteps of their lives on the right path. The country's leaders, the gurus and the pandits of those days grew into ideal men. They made their word and their deed one. They did their work with trikaraṇa śuddhi. That is why the young women and young men followed them and walked in their footsteps. In their rooms, the young women and young men of those days worshipped well the pictures of exemplary leaders and the sacred principle of the Avatāra, and through that they lived exemplary lives. Today no exemplary gurus and no exemplary leaders are to be seen. What they say is one thing, and what they do is another. That is why the faith of the young women and young men has been slipping, little by little.
Today, in the rooms of the young women and young men, they have taken nothing but cinema leaders as the deities they worship.
