Passage 12

In plain words

A day has 24 hours. Within the twenty-four hours this Soham, Soham says itself 21,600 times. When the inner voice keeps teaching you 21,600 times, 'Brahma am I, I am Brahma,' if you set this teaching aside, forget 'I am Brahma,' and go on saying, 'I am Rāmayya, I am Śanayya, I am Bhogayya,' is this any right path? Thinking yourself Rāmayya or Kṛṣṇayya, however long you do sādhana, there is no use. You will stay just like Rāmayya and Kṛṣṇayya. These names Rāmayya and Kṛṣṇayya are names given to the body, not names given to you. This is a name given to the body. Soham is not a name given to the body. Soham is the name you were born with. The name you were born with is lasting; but is the name given to you lasting? The name given is artificial. Artificial. What you were born with is real. That is your Satya. You must regard that very Satya as Ṛta. Make these two, Satya and Ṛta, one, and attain the divine Sat-Cit-Ānanda. So Buddhi is not a thing merely to be uttered, enjoyed or used in the way of the world. Only when we recognise the secret of Buddhi and through it know fully about this charioteer of the chariot, can we offer the chariot of our life to Him. Kṛṣṇa is Pārthasārathi. Who is Pārtha? Pārtha is not Arjuna alone. Whoever is a son of Pṛthvī is Pārtha. So all of you are sons of Pṛthvī. Pārthasārathi is for all of you. So all of you must accept God as your charioteer. The Ātma is the reflection of God, so keep the Buddhi as it naturally is and try to reach the treasure of God, the presence of God. For everything Prema is most necessary. Without Prema we cannot do any task at all. Even for eating and drinking, it is only when there is Prema that we set about eating and drinking. So God is the very embodiment of that Prema. God is the very sun of Satya. God is the one who is the home of good qualities. So I hope that, to recognise the true form through Prema, you will take refuge in the Buddhi and through it shape your, your mental nature to be sacred, to be pure, divine, noble and new.
