In plain words
So there is no need to search. If you see yourself, you will have seen God. Sankrānti is not only for the people of Bhārata; it gives krānti to the whole world. It brings a great krānti to every religion, every country, every form. It brings true Śānti. Śānti and krānti dwell in our own heart. So we must not go searching for Ānanda in the outer world. Worldly joy is not lasting. Lasting Ānanda is within you. You must try to know yourself. We must certainly do the actions of the natural world. But while doing them, we must believe them to be actions of the divinity that has arisen from within.
Do your actions as an offering to God
Man must not be proud of his youth in the least. He must not fear old age. He must not grieve over death. This youth, old age and death belong to the body, not to you. And man's youth passes away all the more easily. It comes in the middle and drops away in the middle! It is like passing clouds. We must not swell with Ahaṅkāra over it and blacken our humanness. We must make this sacred, divine age of life worthwhile. Serve your fellow men. Give joy to your parents. Lead your life with the feeling of God. Do your actions with the feeling of offering them to God. Do them in the spirit of ‘Sarvakarma bhagavatprītyartham’. Without that feeling, however many actions you do, life goes by like a wound-up clock turning round, an artificial life. Whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly. Do it with a pure feeling. Do it with desireless thought. Only then will steadiness, deep peace and purity grow in us. There is only one God. The principle of the Ātma that is in all is one.
