In plain words
‘Kṛṣṇa! There may not be enough Bhakti in me. But Satyabhāmā has dedicated her life to You. Could You not wear the dust of her feet?’ he said. Then Satyabhāmā said, ‘Nārada! I am the wife, Kṛṣṇa is the husband. What a sin it is to put the dust of the wife's feet on the husband's head! I will not agree to it at all. Am I to do this and fall into a pit of sin?’ she said. There too, in Satyabhāmā, selfishness had taken over completely! The selfishness came that if the dust of her feet were put on her husband's head, she would fall into sin. Satyabhāmā did not agree to put the dust of her feet on Kṛṣṇa's head. Rukmiṇī too came to the same feeling. None of them gave it. Moment by moment Kṛṣṇa's pain kept growing. With no way out, Nārada came to Vrepalle. The moment Nārada came, the gopīs all crowded around him. ‘Nārada! How is our Kṛṣṇa? When will He come to our Vrepalle? Tell us this news,’ they asked. ‘I do not know about Kṛṣṇa's coming. At present Kṛṣṇa is suffering a boundless pain in His head. I have come here for medicine to relieve that pain,’ he said. ‘Nārada! Is the medicine that cures Kṛṣṇa's headache here in our Vrepalle! If you tell us where that medicine is, we will bring it and give it,’ said the gopīs. ‘The dust of your feet is the very medicine that eases the pain in His head,’ said Nārada. One gopī went and brought a sheet. All the gopīs shook all the dust of their feet into it. Nārada tied it up in a bundle. He set out. This is a fine example of their selflessness and their purity. ‘We are only servants! How can we give the dust of our feet to Kṛṣṇa?’: such a thought never came to them. ‘If Kṛṣṇa is happy, that alone is enough for us! We have no right to argue back and forth that it should be this or that. Our very life is offered to Him. His Ānanda is our Ānanda’: such was the feeling the gopīs had. The very moment they gave the dust of their feet in this feeling of oneness, Kṛṣṇa's heavy head was relieved there!
