In plain words
We must picture our feelings in our heart as divine feelings, as feelings bound up with God. A small example. So far has the faith of the man of today fallen that we go on journeys saying, ‘God lives in Tirupati, He lives in Bhadrācalam, He lives in Badrīnāth, He lives in Kedārnāth, He lives in Amarnāth’. All these are the antics of the mind. But ‘My dear! God is not there or here. He lives in your very heart,’ say this, and no one believes it. They do not believe in God who is so near. Say He is somewhere far off, and they spend money, set out on a journey, put up with hardships and go. To think He is outside is a delusion. The truth is that He lives in us, in our very heart. He Himself gives guidance of every kind. Today we are forgetting that truth. There is nothing in the world outside. All that is there reflects only what is in us. Whatever you do, He gives the fruit of it in return. So every man must do good, see good, think good and live in goodness. This alone is true Vedānta.
We must pray to God, who is perfect fullness, with a heart perfectly full
God is not somewhere far away. He lives in your very heart. You must believe fully in that divinity which dwells in the heart. Because God is perfectly full, we too must cultivate a Prema that is perfectly full. So: ‘Pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇamidaṃ pūrṇāt pūrṇamudacyate’. He is full indeed; we are full indeed. Such faith must grow. If we pray incompletely to God, whose form is fullness, we get no fruit. We must pray to God, who is perfect fullness, with a perfectly full heart. What is ready in every man at every moment is Prema alone! Anger may come and go. Ahaṅkāra may come and go. Envy may come and go. Pride may come and go.
