In plain words
How worthwhile we must make our experience of it! How full of good deeds we must make our experience of it! Those positive qualities are not seen at all in man today. There is the body. One can do anything at all with the hands. No. What were the hands given for? They should be filled with good deeds. What was the head given for? It should be full of good thoughts. How should the heart be? It should be full of perfect compassion. Without this compassion in the heart, without the spirit of sacrifice in the head, without selfless deeds in the hands, what use is it to do any amount of work? People think all these are being done with the positive. No. No. All of them are joined with the negative. The day your heart is full of compassion, that is the true positive for you. Hands that enter into selfless deeds: that is the true positive for you. A head that holds holy good thoughts: that is the true positive. Students today, or elders, must try to recognise the things that are negative and conduct themselves accordingly. For everything the tongue matters very much. Manas, Buddhi, citta, antaḥkaraṇa: to what do these four belong? They belong to the body. The senses are joined with the body. The mind is joined with the body. This Buddhi is joined with the body. The antaḥkaraṇa is joined with the body. As long as there is the feeling "I am the body," this fellow lives in the negative alone. When one thinks "I am not this body," there is no sorrow at all. I am the master of all these senses. I am the master. The senses are instruments. That is why: be a master. When you are the master, to gain that master mind is true Mukti, he said. Master the mind, be a master mind. Recognising this kind of principle, you must make the effort that Mokṣa needs. Mokṣa is not something gained some day after you are dead. From childhood you must keep recognising this liberation at every step. This is what they have been calling freedom. If you want the right word for Mokṣa, it is emancipation. That is true Mukti, true freedom. It is to gain that that we give it all these names.
