Passage 15

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

This is sugar, this is water. But they must not stay separate. We must mix the two, the sugar and the water. Then it is neither sugar nor water. Pānakam: it has come to have a different name. When Sat and Cit both come together, Ānanda is found in us. So we must recognise the way that joins these two. Sat is in everyone. That Sat itself is our divine Ātma principle. Cit itself is the principle of our body. Humanness is nothing but the oneness of these two.

The Ardhanārīśvara principle in every man

This humanness is not just humanness. This has been called ‘Ardhanārīśvara’. Ardhanārīśvara is not in Īśvara only. In every man too there must be Ardhanārīśvara. That itself is the goal. That itself is the akṣara. In the word akṣara, the a is the Ātma principle. ‘Kṣa’ is the principle of the body, which perishes. So the body is perishable. The Ātma is ever-abiding. The Veda has kept describing this very thing. Thus: ‘Beyond the guṇas, without stain, eternal, the abode, everlasting, pure, awake, free, of spotless nature.’ So the akṣara is the two joined together. This itself is Ardhanārīśvara. The body is Prakṛti. This Prakṛti itself is Pārvatī. The Ātma itself is Śiva. So humanness is nothing but the oneness of Śiva and Pārvatī. So this itself has been called Ardhanārīśvara. In humanness there are many secrets of its ways to be known. To make divinity grow is very easy. You do not know it, but the bad feelings, bad thoughts and bad words that are in our mind: throw all these out. If we remove these bad feelings, good feelings will arise. Then all actions will be sacred ones alone.

If you fill the heart with Prema, the whole world becomes full of Prema

If you fill the tank called the heart with the water called Prema, the essence of Prema alone will come in good actions, in good feelings, in everything. For this body the five prāṇas, the five senses, the five sheaths, all these are like taps.
