Passage 9

In plain words

The national feeling is not seen in man at all. When we try to recognise how sacred the culture of Bhārata is, its great power becomes clear to us. What has entered you at every step, every moment, every particle, is the culture of Bhārata. In every blood cell flowing in our body there is the culture of Bhārata. In each cell it has taken on a form of its own. So your form is not one. “Sahasra śīrṣāḥ puruṣaḥ sahasrākṣa sahasrapāt.” So this form is not something that lives in one leg, a hand or a head. The culture of Bhārata is the very unity that holds manyness within it. We must guard this unity well. Countries may be different from one another.

Countries are different, but earth is one Stars are many, but sky is one Jewels are many, but gold is one Cows are many, but milk is one

This is the kind of culture our culture of Bhārata has gone on teaching. Countries may be different from one another. For all countries the earth is the support. We are forgetting the principle of the earth that is such a support. Because we forget this principle of Prakṛti, we are forgetting the principle of the Paramātma. We do not think of the principle of the highest reality, only of the physical and the worldly. We must give up the worldly and the physical. We must put our faith in the highest reality. It is these, Satya, Dharma, Śānti and Prema, that are the human values. Only he who has fostered these values is a true man. For these values to grow, sāttvic food is very necessary.

Embodiments of Prema! Do not take it amiss. You must not take certain substances at all.
