In plain words
Bhakti alone grants the supreme goal; Bhakti alone destroys the delusion of worldly life; Bhakti alone grants knowledge of the Supreme; Bhakti alone brings about supreme Mokṣa.
However many sufferings befall you, however much blame you bear, however many reproaches you are caught in, the protection called Bhakti stays with you in many ways, as your companion and your shade. In Tamil Nadu, the kingdom of great renown was the Pāṇḍu empire. The king of that kingdom was fond of horses. Out of that fondness he sent his minister, providing him with money and a fitting retinue, and sent him off telling him to bring back a good horse. The king who ruled this Pāṇḍu empire gathered many young men around him, appointed young men themselves as ministers, and went on training them, so that through the young an ideal might be given to the elders. This minister went to a village called Perundārai. When he got there, close by that place there was a great soul called Bāla Yogīśvara. Thinking he must not waste his time that evening, he went into the place where that Yogīśvara was speaking and heard the talk right through. Hearing that talk, he lost himself completely. In this minister, who had doubted, ‘Are there such great souls in this world?’, a firm faith arose, and he grew in trust in that sage. ‘There are so many great souls; my salutations to them all,’ said Tyāgarāja. In sacred Bhārata, among its countless people, many of these holy maharṣis too have kept flourishing. From ancient times Bhārata, through the power of its spiritual principle, has been bringing lasting peace and security to all countries. In the spiritual principle, Bhārata has held the rank of teacher, above all other countries. Forgetting what he had come for and what command his king had given, he listened to these talks every day, and lost in this Ānanda he was immersed without a break in the thought of God. That place had the strength of place, its own strength, the strength of wealth, every strength; wanting to see its strength of place too, he came to know it a little.
