Passage 12

In plain words

All the elders today must take a fitting vow to develop these sacred human values. These chairmen, secretaries, co-ordinators, all of them must enter into action. Writing something and handing it out to ten people is not what matters. This circulation does not get the work done. The circulation must happen within. Only then will right change come about. Only then will a kind of transformation come in us. Otherwise the whole of life is used up in information alone. Information is not what matters; information is only quantity. Transformation is quality. To how many have we given degrees, to how many have we given these certificates? This is not what we have to share out. How many have we put right? How many have I put right? For how many have I stood as an example? Each one must question himself on this truth.

I know that the work is going on very grandly in foreign countries. The children look on human values as equal to life itself. Though the parents did not much like it at first, in view of the change in the children they too are sending them with great śraddhā and Bhakti. In this the interest of the teachers is very great. If that interest grows in the teachers, human values will grow ever so much. Today they keep thinking, human values, human values, but if you ask the question how far they have developed them, the marks come out zero. No, no, they must get a hundred marks out of a hundred. You must go on working with right effort. It must become sincere work, honest work, disciplined work, devotional work, duty work. The oneness of the three must be brought into it. It is not only telling, only making them hear. Many are taking part in these human values with śraddhā and Bhakti. In all countries too, in Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Germany, in all countries, the women are doing much work. In any situation they do it, bowing their heads to Swami's command.
