In plain words
So long as you think ‘I am a human being,’ you remain only human beings. Cast off the thought that you are the body, and develop the thought that you are God. Only then will you be blessed. It was to give just this teaching of truth that Vāmana came to Emperor Bali. “Bali! You are no ordinary man. I am right within you. The body is only a leather puppet. Within this very body dwells eternal divinity,” he said. So you and God are not separate. You are with God; you are in God; you are for God. When you develop this holy feeling, every act you do will take a holy form.
Stay far away from politics!
A student from our Srisailam school spoke with a pure heart. In truth, all the students in the world are pure of heart, clean of mind! But it is the elders who are spoiling their pure hearts. Students! Go out into society and serve. Do any work you like, but do not join politics. Politics will spoil your hearts. If you want to be ruined, go into politics; if you want to become ideal men, nurture good qualities. In former times the political leaders of Bhārata were very pure, and an example to all. In those days, when leaders like Jayaprakash Narayan or Subhas Chandra Bose were coming, even little children would set out in crowds to attend their meetings. Students then kept photographs of ideal men in their homes. But today, whoever’s room you look into, all you see are pictures of film actors.
‘Prema is the great property I own’
Embodiments of Prema! It was because the leaders of those days were pure that everyone was drawn to them. You too, be pure of heart like them. Then everyone who sees you will be drawn to you. In every human being there is a great ‘magnet’. That is Prema. Prema is God. A small example: did I call you to come here today?
