In plain words
But they, for their part, would take no medicines of any kind. If they had a stomach-ache they would come running to me; they would take prasādam, mix it in water and drink it. In this way they went on sustaining their lives. Many more such persons must arise and demonstrate an ideal to today's youth. Today's young people have a ‘monkey mind’. Not an ordinary ‘monkey mind’, but one lower than that! One minute they talk one way, the next minute another way. Thinking, ‘The tongue has no bone; it turns whichever way you turn it, doesn't it?’, you must not talk as you please. The word you have given you must keep until you die, until the tongue is gone. Someone: “Swami! My teeth are falling out. What is the use of living any longer?” they said. I said: “The teeth are going, but the tongue is not going, is it!” The teeth are hard. So they go first. But the soft tongue does not go. It goes with you right to the end. So you must keep the tongue sacred. You must speak with humility and courtesy. You must speak the truth. You must act according to Dharma. You must keep God's Name in remembrance. You must make others hear the remembrance of the Name. For this very purpose God has given you a tongue.
“Do you know why the mouth was given? To eat everything? No, no. To sing the praises of the God of gods, the saviour of the afflicted. Why were shapely feet given? To roam the lanes and alleys? Not for that. To walk about in the temple of the One who rides on Nandi.” In this way you must make every limb worthwhile. You must do good deeds with the body. “Śarīram ādyaṃ khalu dharmasādhanam.” The body has come only for the practice of Dharma. So I hope that you will set it on the sacred path and win lasting good repute.
