Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

As long as man has ego and pomp, no one will love him. As long as there is anger, he cannot escape sorrow. As long as there are desires, riches and prosperity will not look his way. As long as there is greed, he has no peace.

Embodiments of Prema! In this world all objects are made up of five things: Sat, Cit, Ānanda, form and name. Sat, Cit and Ānanda are man's chief qualities. Form and name are imagined. But man forgets his true nature and lives with form and name alone as his basis; forgetting his divinity, he behaves like a demon. God is beyond qualities, beyond thought. Man imagines many qualities for such a God. This is truly a very strange thing. Every man needs to recognise how much Satya and Dharma, how much compassion and Prema there are in God.

Because God keeps all power in His navel, He has the name Hiraṇyagarbha. The Hiraṇyagarbha principle is most excellent, kindly and noble. Because He shines with an inspiring radiance, He also has the names Radiant One and Beautiful One. Since He alone is the cause of all creation, another name for Him is Prajāpati. To understand the principle of God, you must recognise out of what feeling each name arose. God has a great many names. Not one name is without meaning.
