Life means nothing to them. They are taking the lives of their fellow men. Is this work fit for human beings to do? No, no. We must not Kill anyone; we must Skill the divine power within us. Only then will life find its Balance well. Only when the Balance is well set does Insight arise.
Every village must be developed in the right way. The feelings of difference in everyone must be put away. The children who have come now for village service (former students) have come from Hyderabad, Madras, America and many other places. Why come like this? Is this some kind of fair? Not at all. Let the people of Hyderabad develop Hyderabad. Go from Hyderabad to another town and develop the people there. Instead, Hyderabad, Madras... when the people of different places all gather in this way like a mixed bunch, everything turns ‘adulterated’. In the end that leads to Confusion and Pollution. ‘Purity’ is what we need. When will this ‘purity’ come? Only when there is ‘unity’ does ‘purity’ come. Only when there is ‘purity’ does ‘divinity’ come. So ‘unity’, ‘purity’, ‘divinity’: develop all three of these. All of you may come together; in sacrifice like this, everyone may work together. But when children from different places gather in this way, the villages gain nothing from it. Because of it everything becomes ‘pollution’, and ‘purity’ does not come. Their feeling is one thing, these people's feeling another... In this way the feelings fall apart and turn into impurity. It turns into nothing but a ‘business centre’. Spirituality is not a ‘business centre’. Spirituality is a divine mansion built of oneness. This Ānanda is the oneness in multiplicity. I hope that you will develop this. Only then will your service gain its due worth.
Let me give you an example. Gold is born from the earth. When it is refined, it takes shape as pure gold. While it is pure gold its value is high; a kāsu of it fetches four hundred, five hundred.
