In plain words
Who can do anything to us?” With that arrogance they go astray and earn a bad name. “My child! When you walk in the bazaar, watch the road as you walk. If you walk looking this way and that, you will meet with accidents,” I tell them again and again, but some ride fast on motorcycles looking at the women coming and going on this side and that. As a result they meet with accidents. In this way many students are losing their lives in motorcycle accidents. Parents bear so many hardships as they rear their children and bring them up. When such children lose their lives like this, there are no words for how much the parents suffer.
“Boys ride on motorcycles. Why should we, for our part, not ride motorcycles?” In such foolish argument the girls waste their time. No one is saying that girls should not ride motorcycles. But we must use them as time and occasion require. “Why should we not learn the studies boys learn? We too must win a great name equal to theirs,” they wish. Each must learn the kind of learning that suits them. Above all, while looking after the household well, they must teach the children good conduct. I am not saying they should not study. They must study what is worth studying.
Do not take My words in a wrong sense. I am speaking for your progress, for your welfare, for your good name and standing. My one wish is that you pursue studies that bring your parents a good name. That is all; I am not teaching that you should not pursue these worldly studies. If I really meant you should not pursue these studies, why would I found these educational institutions and colleges for women? I found educational institutions precisely to teach you good conduct. My aim is to give children right education at no cost at all to the parents and to shape them into models for others.
Today's studies lead to rivalry and quarrels. The parents are at fault in this too.
