In plain words

The divine story of Lord Rāma is full of wonders of every kind. Today everyone is celebrating the wedding festival of Sītā and Rāma. Yet no one rightly knows when the wedding of Sītā and Rāma took place, or how it took place. After the wedding Rāma went through many hardships. He fought with many rākṣasas. Rāma's very first weapon was none other than Lakṣmaṇa. In this way Rāma could win victory only through the oneness of the brothers. So great was the love among brothers in those days. “My brothers are greater than I. Only through my brothers' unity did I win victory”: with these words Rāma praised his brothers greatly. Rāma Navamī is not merely the day Rāma was born. Rāma's wedding means Rāma marrying Sītā … It is not only this. With what grace was Rāma born? How did he win victory? You must recognise this secret well. Rāma's wedding is nothing but the wedding of the Ātma, in life. This wedding is nothing but joining the Ātma to the Paramātma. It is not a matter of one individual.
