Passage 3

In plain words

‘God is in me, in you, in all. The One who is everywhere is God Himself’: you must recognise this and act on it. But today no one practises dhyāna of this kind. If you want to see God, your mind must become pure. God Himself appears to you as your mother; He appears as your father. When you see them, you must think, ‘Look, God has revealed Himself to me in this form.’ What dwells in all is nothing but the Ātma. After marriage you call the woman who has come to you ‘my wife’. But in truth she is not your wife; she is an embodiment of the Ātma. After a time a little boy is born to you. ‘Son! Son!’ you say, and you kiss him. But he is not your son; he is nothing but an embodiment of the Ātma! In this way, the bond among all is nothing but the bond of the Ātma. All worldly ties of kinship arise only from the illusion of being the body.

The oneness of the jīva and Brahman is itself the true realisation of the Ātma. Every single person you see is an embodiment of God. Without God, how could man exist at all? Śrī Kṛṣṇa gave His promise: ‘To establish Dharma I shall incarnate in every age.’ He declared, ‘I am the very Ātma that dwells in all.’ He was never bound by worldly ties of kinship. The Gopīs, who knew this truth, ‘Kṛṣṇa! Kṛṣṇa!’ they called, and passed their days in unbroken remembrance of Kṛṣṇa's Name. ‘The One seen in everyone is our Kṛṣṇa, and no one else,’ they believed. The reason they could experience such a vision was nothing but the purity of their hearts. To ascribe kinship to the Ātma that dwells in all is a trait of the physical.

Once Kṛṣṇa said to Rādhā's younger sister, ‘I am in your husband too. Have no doubt, thinking I am there but not here. I pervade all. You have no husband, no parents, no one at all who is set apart as your own. All these ties of kinship are of My making. I Myself am the One who made all these people,’ He said. Living beings are embodiments of moha; Kṛṣṇa is the embodiment of Mohana. All forms and names are reflections of Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa is a ‘cosmic power’. If one puts it this way, some will not accept it. Only the Gopīs and Rādhā came to know this truth.
