Passage 5

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

From today, ‘God is there wherever you look. He is there in whomever you look’: recognise this truth and act on it. Only then will you have the vision of God.

If we grasp the hand of God alone, the world itself comes into our hands. So we must do the sādhana that pleases God. We must follow the path fit for attaining Him. Go once to Mathurā and Dvārakā and see. Kṛṣṇa left Dvārakā long ago. Yet even now people go on worshipping Kṛṣṇa with great Bhakti and surrender, regarding Him as God present before their eyes. When God takes on a human form, those who cannot recognise divinity take Him for an ordinary man. To take divinity for humanness in this way is a great mistake. You say that I am God. But you who are listening to My words are embodiments of God too. You must not think that God is apart from you. ‘We are all children of God. We are embodiments of God’: think so. You will surely see God Himself everywhere. ‘As the feeling, so the outcome’: if you regard all you see as the form of God, God will surely be yours. Because today no one knows the principle of God, people go on saying, ‘She is the mother, he is the father, he is the son.’ Kinship comes from the form. If you take these ties of kinship as true, you are badly deceived.

‘I am the embodiment of Parabrahman. There is no one in this world apart from Me,’ said Kṛṣṇa Paramātma. ‘Ekaṃ sat viprāḥ bahudhā vadanti.’ Though each calls it by a different name, what exists is only one. We add three to one and call it four. If the one itself were not there, where would the four come from? In this way we ourselves add on all these ties of kinship. But divinity is not something added on, not something put together. You think, ‘God is one thing, the jīva another.’ But in truth there is no jīva at all. ‘Then why are they born?
