In plain words
The attachment that says, ‘This is mine, that is mine’, must be given up too. Even in saying, “All these are my disciples”, Ahaṅkāra creeps in.
The Bhagavad Gītā is the very form of God's breath
True teaching springs from our own heart. It was on this basis that Shivraj Patil could write so fine a commentary on the Bhagavad Gītā. However many books he read, his doubts were not all cleared. He did not write from what someone else had written. He did not listen to someone's teaching or ask anyone at all. His own learning made him succeed in this task. He set down well what came to his heart and what he believed with all his heart. Now and then, when he came to Me, he would show it: ‘Is this right or not?’ Many people write books in the ordinary way. But this book on the Bhagavad Gītā that Shivraj Patil has written has a special worth. For some months he pondered deeply, took what is in the Bhagavad Gītā fully into his heart, and drew that very thing in this book. By that he was satisfied, and the book gained honour. The whole essence of the Bhagavad Gītā is held in it. The Bhagavad Gītā is a most holy book. It is the very form of God's breath.
Shivraj Patil is not a devotee of today; he has been coming to Swami for thirty years. At first he had Swami's darśan in S.B. Chavan's house. After that, Chavan and he used to come together. They came not only to Prasanthi Nilayam but wherever Swami was. First he was a minister in Bombay, and then in Delhi. He also served as Speaker of the Lok Sabha. In this way he rose in life. He won a good name for the government. That is why the government came to trust Shivraj Patil so much.
