In plain words
The deer, the fish, the bee, the moth, the elephant: one fault destroys each of them. What hope is there for the man who has all five faults, and no cure for them? Mādhau, I have made a friend of ignorance. The lamp of discernment has gone dim. *(refrain)* In the crooked-going births the creature is senseless, and merit and sin are never weighed. Birth as a man is hard to come by, and even there the company is low. Every living thing, wherever it is, goes where its karam holds it. Death's noose has them, and it cannot be cut; nothing they try will work. Ravidās, servant and unattached, let go of delusion. Let go of delusion; make the Guru's giān your fire. You who take the fear from your devotees, grant paramānand at the last. The deer is taken by sound, the fish by taste, the bee by smell, the moth by sight, the elephant by touch: one sense each.
