Out of supreme compassion, that Guru instructs the student through the method of Adhyāropa and Apavāda, as Śruti says: “To the student who has approached properly, whose Citta is serene and who possesses Śama, the wise one should teach in truth that Brahma-vidyā by which one knows the imperishable, true Puruṣa.”
