परात्रीशिकालघुवृत्तिः ।महामाहेश्वराचार्यवर्य - श्रीमदभिनवगुप्तरचिता ।यत्र तेजसि तेजांसि तमांसि च तमस्यलम् ।तेजांसि च तमांस्येतद्वन्दे ज्योतिरनुत्तरम् ॥ १ ॥सदागमप्रवाहेषु बहुधा व्याकृतं त्रिकम् ।श्रीमदुत्पलदेवीयं तन्त्रसारं तु वर्ण्यते ॥ २ ॥सदाभिनवगुप्तं यत्पुराणं च प्रसिद्धिमत् ।हृदयं तत्परोल्लासैः स्वयं स्फूर्जत्यनुत्तरम् ॥ ३ ॥

The Parātrīśikā Laghuvṛtti. Composed by the venerable Abhinavagupta, great devotee of Śiva and most excellent of teachers. I bow to this anuttara light, in which radiances are fully present in radiance, and darknesses in darkness, and in which radiances and darknesses are this one. The Trika has been expounded in many ways in the streams of the true Āgamas; but the venerable Utpaladeva's essence of the Tantra is described. That heart which is ever new and hidden, and which is ancient too and renowned, the anuttara, flashes forth of itself through its supreme unfoldings.
