Oṃ. Homage to the one whose form is auspiciousness. Now, the Pratyabhijñāhṛdayam. Homage always to Śiva, who carries out the five acts, who makes shine forth the highest reality, one's own Self, dense with cit and ānanda. From the great ocean of the Pratyabhijñā, the essence of Śaṃkara's secret teaching, its essence is drawn up by Kṣema, to quiet the poison of saṃsāra. There are some here who share in devotion, tender of understanding, who have not laboured over the sharp treatises of logic, and in whom śaktipāta has awakened a longing for samāveśa in the Supreme Lord. For them the essential truth of the teaching on the recognition of the Lord is opened a little.
