The works of Ramaṇa Maharṣi

Upadeśa Sāram

Verse 24

In plain words

God and you. In what you are — not in what you have or can do — there is one thing there, not two. The difference is a costume, and even that is not quite it. The difference is the *noticing* of the costume. Take that away and there was never a second party.

Word for word

The difference between Īśa and the jīva is one of guise and of the awareness of it. By their nature as Being, the reality is one only.
