Bhagavadgītābhāṣyam

In plain words

The Lord said — Now those who worship the akṣara, the Imperishable itself; who see rightly; in whom every craving has already fallen away — set them aside for the moment. What needs to be said about them, we will say further on. But the others —

Those devotees who fix their minds completely on Me, on this universal form, the Supreme Lord — who worship Me, the ruler over every master of yoga, the one who knows everything, whose sight carries no shadow of attachment or any other affliction — who stay disciplined without a break, exactly as I already described in the last chapter, constantly engaged, filled with the deepest, most excellent faith — these are the ones I hold dear, the ones I regard as the most accomplished in yoga. Śaṅkara explains why: because, day and night, without any interruption, their minds stay fixed on Me. That is exactly why it is right to call them 'the most disciplined'.

Close to the Sanskrit

The Blessed Lord said — but those who are worshippers of the Imperishable, right-seers, whose cravings have ceased, let them for now remain; what is to be said with regard to them, that we shall say later on. But those others —

Having fixed, having concentrated, the mind on Me, the universal form, the Supreme Lord — those devotees who, being [such], worship Me, the sovereign over all masters of yoga, the omniscient one, whose vision is freed from the darkness of afflictions such as attachment — ever-disciplined, by the reasoning [given in] the meaning of the verse stated at the end of the immediately preceding chapter, constantly engaged, endowed with supreme, excellent faith — they are regarded, held dear, [considered] the most disciplined [in yoga] by Me, thus. For indeed, continuously, with their minds fixed on Me, they pass day and night. Therefore it is fitting to say of them 'the most disciplined'.
