In plain words

While Rāmakṛṣṇa Paramahaṃsa was immersed in dhyāna, the Goddess appeared before him, showed him a radiant boy, and said, ‘He is your son.’ Rāmakṛṣṇa was stunned and grieved deeply: ‘What perversity is this, for me, who look on all women as equal to a mother?’ Right there in his dhyāna, tears streamed from his eyes. ‘Mother! What a dreadful thing is this! In me You alone exist; and in You, too, I alone exist! For me, who have come to know “Īśāvāsyamidaṃ sarvaṃ, Īśvarassarva bhūtānāṃ”, who are wife and sons? Who are kin and friends?’ So he cried out in anguish. Then the Goddess, a gentle smile on Her face: ‘Not a son of kāma; a son of Prema.’ With these words She set his mind at rest.

Some years later, when a man called Manamohan brought a boy named Rākhāl to Dakṣiṇeśvara, the vision of his dhyāna came back to the Paramahaṃsa; he embraced the boy, welcomed him with tears of joy, and gave him a home right beside himself.
