In plain words
To change our experience, which is impermanent, transient and momentary, into an everlasting experience that is eternal, true and pure, we need a support. Without a support we cannot reach what the support holds. Taking some one gross form as our support, we can acquire the strength and capacity to change it into the subtle, the causal and the great causal form. We can experience that very thing in the everlasting state. Here is a small example of this. Now many of us are sitting in this pandal. And each of you, when you think of it: many are here with me, this pandal, and in it Swami too has gone up on the stage and is speaking. Seeing Swami on the stage, and the many who have gathered with you being here in this pandal: that is your own direct experience. Now you are inside the pandal with so many people, listening to Swami's talk. But how long in the pandal? An hour: a fixed time limit. A kind of boundary can be set to the time and to our experience. But after you go back to your own place, after you have gone to Delhi or Calcutta, when you think of all of us sitting in this pandal and Swami giving His talk, this pandal and Swami stay fixed in your heart, within your heart. That is: before, your being in the pandal with your fellow students was fixed for a short while only; after you go back to your own place, whenever in your life you think of this scene, this pandal and this Swami stay fixed in your heart for ever; you can reflect on how great a change this is. Is it not only because you took part in a gathering that served as the support that the everlasting picture, what the support holds, stays fixed in your heart? So first we are in something; next we take it into ourselves; next we ourselves become it.
