In plain words
Even if you make a small hole in this water tank, everything that has gathered in it will drain away onto the ground. It will be lost to you. So see that no holes of any sense-object are made in the seat of your hearts, and keep in view, to some extent, the care that guards well what you have received.
Purity of body and purity of heart: both are truly essential
Students! Do not think that today we have put on clean white clothes for the body alone. Your heart too must reach home as a pure garment. Only when it reaches home that way, only when this body and this heart are both pure, will our life attain the fulfilment of Jñāna. If you ask where you have put on white dress today, you have put it on in white field. The heart itself is a field. Bṛndāvanam. Bṛndāvanam is where Prema comes to rest. The pure heart is white field. White dress for the body, the heart white, Prema pure: the oneness of the three stands as a triad.
Three guṇas, the shape of three leaves, three eyes and three weapons, destroyer of the sins of three births: one bilva leaf, offered to Śiva.
Today, within the oneness of these three, pure Prema, a pure heart and pure clothes, hold the feeling that they are offered to God; from today on, believe that your heart, your Prema and your body are offered to God, and all karmas done for the pleasure of God: good action, good thinking, good reflection, good conduct, good action. Using your time well, as far as you can, in things like these, you must keep turning over in your mind the teaching of brotherhood of man, fatherhood of God, which will establish once more for Bhārata its everlasting culture. One divine principle in all: that itself is brotherhood. It is not a matter of saying ‘brother and sisters’ on the flatform alone, while no one ever gives property to another.
