Passage 3

In plain words

So our mind, our aham-principle of "I", must be at one with the feelings of the Ātma alone and the qualities of the Ātma alone, and must stay joined to them. We must recognise the difference between the aham and the Ātma. The aham is born, grows, comes and goes. But the Ātma has none of these changes: being born, growing, perishing, coming and going. That is why from the limitless Ātma-principle came the limited aham-principle of "I", and through it this form called the mind, the gathering of thoughts. That is why only when we recognise the principle that is the root of all things shall we have recognised everything. So it is most essential for every human being first of all to recognise the principle of "I", "I". But we cast away that which is the support, cling to and take refuge in Prakṛti alone, which is only what is supported, and so we fall into despair.

Consciousness pervades everywhere. And this consciousness is in the mind too. But the consciousness of the mind is bounded by a limit. So the principle of this mind blossoms, shows itself and flourishes in man alone. By the mind's reflection, its changes and its influence, the enquiry into the physical world, its examination and its research go on. In today's education, the consciousness of Prakṛti and the changes of Prakṛti are only a reflection of inner feelings. All this is only a kind of art-picture. (art) Art is outside heart is inside. Art should come from the heart. We must recognise that truth. Every reflection we see today is like letting go of the bird in the hand to scramble after the bird in the bush. We must recognise the truth that all our research today is only the reflection of inner feelings. If we go on concentrating the mind well, we can recognise this divine root. That is why: The essence of education is concentration of mind not collection of facts. But today our whole life has become a connection within collection. And our concentration has vanished from sight. We must recognise this first of all.

The whole world keeps giving us many kinds of teaching.
