In plain words
Have they no sense? It is a principle that knows more than all of them, and that alone is why they enter here. In everything, moral, physical, of Dharma, spiritual, scientific and worldly, we must develop the right system. Humanness always rests on balance. Only when that balance is there is he a perfect man. If this balance goes this way or that, he may become a monkey, he may become anything else. Now what is the reason for balance going wrong? There is as much knowledge as is needed in the children; there is no lack of knowledge. But in them this lack of balance is there. When does it become possible for this balance to be good? If we skill our knowledge, the balance will be right. But these mad children are not doing skill. They are killing knowledge. That is precisely why the balance is going. What is it to skill? They are putting it into mad, mad ways. They are travelling on a narrow path. They are using this knowledge only for selfishness and self-interest. When they bring this knowledge in for a broad nation, for a broad society, there is a fine balance. We must reduce, gradually, a little, this attachment that says "I" and "mine", and develop "ours" and "our people". Our humanness must start in I and end in we. But however long it goes on with "I, I", where will it ever arrive? The eye too will go. Without we, life goes to waste. So we must grow the equality that says, "All are one." This is what earns the name of a society of equals, a new society. They say "new society", and they beat one another. They say "society of equals", and they kill one another. Does this beating and killing make a society of equals? Never. We must protect one another. We must be a help to one another. We must show sympathy to one another. This is the true society of equals. This society of equals grows only in prayer.
