Such people must be made in our Institute. Only when, along with this learning, Viveka joins, along with Viveka discernment, along with discernment humility, and along with humility learning too, does man shine. Learning without humility is no learning. Learning without wisdom is no learning. What use is mere knowledge? Ajñāna that is of use is better than knowledge that is of no use. That is why I say now and then, ‘Why ten acres of land that yields no crop? A little good land is enough.’ We need not hanker after big, big degrees. Even if you take degrees from A, B, C, D right up to Z, if you do not have it in practice, you are a mere dunce. What are these studies? Even dogs learn lessons if you teach them. In olden days, they say, even a buffalo recited the Veda. Do monkeys not ride bicycles now? If you teach them, even sheep and goats do many things in the circus. Can learning that is taught, merely learnt and recited back, be learning? We must put it into practice and live as an example to others. That alone is true education. We must lead an exemplary life. What kind of example? The noblest example. We must live as human beings. We must lead our lives as human beings. We must die as human beings. Born as human beings, we must not die as demons.
So if we develop these good thoughts well, we ourselves become embodiments of God. It is not a matter of practising it for a while only. We must follow it all our life. When we wish to gain this deep faith, you must believe the truth that we are portions of God. You must not think that God is separate from you. While this feeling is in you, you may stay in Bhakti and prapatti for a while. The moment you go back out into the world, you turn into atheists. So, at every moment, wherever you are, you must make firm the feeling that we are portions of God. So all the divine qualities must come into us who are portions of God. You will not go astray. Otherwise you may go astray at any moment. You may yield to evil thoughts to some extent. You may forget a kindness done to you. You may do harm to the one who helped you. So, first of all, keep this point in mind and try to accomplish your life's journey to some extent: this is a very important matter, I warn you, and with this I close My discourse.
