In plain words
If even ten are found here, it is great good fortune. So I hope very much that, as far as possible, all will offer an ideal life. I hope that you too will make the effort that this needs and make a firm resolve to fulfil the aim. I bless you.
Above all, in our college every kind of art is growing. The art of living is chief among them. Worldly arts come and go. passing clouds. We must learn the arts that we can go out and show as an ideal in society in the future. Those arts are Satya, Dharma, Śānti, Prema and Ahiṃsā. They are our five life-breaths. We must not go into violence. We must lead a very peaceful life. Wherever you look, the unrest of students has grown beyond all bounds. That is not good. We should stay calm, go to those through whom our wishes can be met and have them met; but for all the educated to go into the bazaar like fools, shouting, and to Strike: these are not marks befitting education. We will be ones who bring disgrace not only on our education, not only on our institution, but on humanity itself. Man must not behave in this way. Even without any education, one born as a man must not enter into such behaviour. We must lead a life of Śānti, a life of Prema, a life of Dharma. We must live a life of Satya. This is true life.
Students! Today we have inaugurated the B.Ed college. From next year it will also become a training college. How far does this training go? What we teach others we must practise, and then teach. I have told you many times. A Physics teacher may take you into the laboratory and explain to you. A Chemistry teacher may take you into the laboratory of chemistry and explain. An English teacher may read the book, teach grammar and explain it well. They explain everything. But the physical Instructor alone says, "one, two, three," does it himself and shows it. In just the same way, all the students of our college must do everything and show it. That is what matters. If you only teach others and do not do it yourselves, the world today watches with a thousand eyes. "Sai Baba institution: how are these people?" "How are they outside?" they keep watching closely. It is not for anybody's sake. We need not make this show. We need not go after pomp. We need not go after Attractions. We need our own satisfaction. Your conscience must satisfy you that you are living rightly. We must conduct ourselves in that way. Then we need fear no one and nothing. Fear comes only when there is a fault. When there is no fault, there is no room for fear.
