Passage 1

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

For food you go through many troubles; you long to win all the pleasures of Prakṛti; to reach God's side you make no effort. This is a word that tells the plain truth. The studies that earn your bread you study with such devotion; for the studies of Mukti, not one comes forward.

Students!

The world is the vast form of God. When man lets his Buddhi blossom and turns it upon God's creation, the wondrous order of creation becomes clear. We must recognise that to understand this order of creation is the right education. First of all we see the inert hills and mountains. In these we see no consciousness. Second, the trees. In these there is consciousness, but they do not travel from one place to another. Third, the animals. In these there is consciousness, and they are also able to travel from one place to another. Fourth, man. In him there is full consciousness, and beyond that there is something wondrous, unfailing and marvellous as his special mark. That is good speech. First the inert, second consciousness, third movement, fourth good speech. When we understand this order of creation, we can recognise how special, how rare and how unfailing humanness is.
