Passage 7

In plain words

Whether sins or curses, all are rooted out by prayer. We must offer to God feelings filled with fragrance. We must make the heart a flower.

A heart like a jasmine flower is offered at Your feet; it is no dream, it is true: life itself is offered. A heart like a jasmine flower is offered at Your feet.

Only when we make the heart pure with such prayers do this divinity and purity become one, and what we call humanness changes and takes shape as divinity. But in our lives, knowingly or unknowingly, we keep making many mistakes. We must forget all of that. Past is past forget the past. Future is not sure. do not brood over future. Live in the present. We must see the present not as an ordinary present but as omnipresent. Past results are in the present. Future results too are in the present. The result of what we did before is here now. Whatever we do now, that itself comes as the fruit in the future. So we must use the present in the most sacred way. This itself is the chief sādhana students must do.

In this way, you must offer your citta to God and, as Rasagotrā said, grow in surrender, that is, in the principle of Śaraṇāgati. It is a very easy path. It is very easy. It is very gentle. It is very … It is very effortless. You think surrender is very hard. It is hard only in your feeling; it is very easy. As long as the purse with the money is in your hand, you have nothing but fear, fear. If you put that money in the bank, there is no fear. How easy! As long as you keep it with you, you have nothing but fear. Nothing but danger. So deposit it in the bank called the grace of God. Your burden has grown light. Fear has gone. There is no danger at all. You leave what is easy and enter into what is hard. So offering to God is a very easy way. But one thing stands in the way of it. What is it? Ahaṅkāra. Thinking, ‘Oh, this is my own house, my own money,’ you are afraid to put it in the bank.
