In plain words

So when there is a person he likes, however many mistakes that person may make, he keeps … thinking it good. If there is a person he does not like, whatever good that person may do, he keeps looking only for faults in it. So such good and bad are only the workings of the feelings of our mind, not the doings of the man. So we must recognise today the truth that man means mind. We must know that mind means a gathering of resolves. Resolves mean nothing but the actions we live out daily in life: think …; in short, when the feeling arises in us that the world is not right, we must clearly recognise the truth that our conduct is not right. When our ways of acting are not right, the world is left without ….

We keep saying that wherever one looks in the world it is dancing wildly with injustice, wrongdoing, misconduct and …, but this world has no … five-element forms of its own apart. All these are only the effects of the evil ways that are in man. So man must first of all enter on holy and good ways of conduct. Truly, life means nothing other than a man's conduct. Mere breathing in and breathing out … is not our life. Thinking that we are alive while the pulse beats …; we must think we are alive only when we work. As a machine that does no work gathers rust, so a body that does no work is only a rusted machine. … 'Rest is rust.' In the name of rest we are wasting our time. Wasting … we are making our life worthless. But this is not the way for us: … change of work is rest. The young people of today must enter into work without a break. Only then will there be no room at all in our heads for these crazy feelings or for wicked resolves. So we must take up some work or other and, as far as possible, shape our life into one full of cheer. Telling ourselves, 'They told us to do some work or other, didn't they?', we must not do crazy things and enter into work that harms others. Whatever work you set about doing, first … right or wrong. We must enquire, 'Is it good or bad?', and enter on that work. A wicked demon is entering into us. When this very one, the demon called envy, enters our heart, the darkness called blindness falls on us all, and … the power of judging what is fit to do and what is not becomes void. … brother, another one, one more is there. He is a very hard-hearted one. When he … our body, the whole body turns diseased. This disease is one that … to no treatment at all. So Ahaṅkāra and envy keep trying ceaselessly to … in us.
