Passage 12

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

This is the root cause of saying that a human birth is hard to gain.

Embodiments of the divine Ātma! Wherever a matter of money takes place, you must decide that it has no connection with the Sai organisation. If you want to do service, there is nothing wrong in the people in your organisation doing it among yourselves. So, above all, the chief points for our organisations are just two. No connection with money; no connection with the Government. As much strength as we have, that much we will do, however small. The Government goes on doing the good works the Government does; let them do them. We must not use their name and go into this. What we do, we will do ourselves. Take part in service as much as your strength allows. If it is like this, the Government too will help a great deal. But we must have no connection with them at all. Good people, pleased with the service we do, may give help to any extent. If we rely on this and go ahead, some other officer may come and may not help it. Then what becomes of our organisation? So we must depend on our own strength alone. We must not depend on anyone else's strength. That is the strength of the Ātma. For one who does not trust the strength of the Ātma, everything else is weakness. But as for service, that must be done. We must take part in service. Through these acts of service we must shape the world on the right path. Only then can the greatness of our Bhārata be praised to any extent. Do not scramble for our own name and fame. Strive for the sake of Prema. You must recognise this as the chief duty of the Sai organisations.
