Passage 5

Tap any word for its meaning.

In plain words

That very heart is one, not two. When you give up the feelings of "you" and "I", embrace oneness, revolve round Divinity and experience Divinity, you yourself are an Avatāra.

Embodiments of Prema! We must not imagine that humanness is impossible, or that it is bound up with delusion, or that it lies in Ajñāna. A human birth is hard to come by. Having taken such a human birth, not to try to recognise one's own nature, and to imagine that God is in the outer world: this itself is the great Ajñāna. So do not waste time; make your time worthwhile, do your karmas with the body, and try to recognise Divinity. Try to honour humanness of this kind. When you truly want to worship God, worship Him in human form itself. Whatever form we may imagine, those forms are merely artificial. They are made of fancies. They are compounded of delusions. Until this delusion goes, Brahman will not be revealed to us. So we must rid ourselves of these delusions.

So many people have been describing God in so many ways. In the Vedas, Śāstras, Itihāsas and Purāṇas they teach fine authorities. In the Upaniṣads and the Brahma-sūtras they have been describing this principle of Brahman in many ways; this wordy man is content with descriptions alone, but he does not try to recognise for himself this form that is described. What is its form? If you should wish to see its form, it would turn out to be only a distortion. Believe your own form to be Divinity. Honour yourself. Honour others; love yourself. Love others. It is only because such divine and broad ideas have gone without being spread and taught, even from ancient times, that man is falling prey to so many kinds of Ajñāna.

For God there is neither descending nor coming to an end. The body He takes on is like a bubble of water.

Born in the water, growing up in the water, it subsides in the water: the bubble. Man is the bubble; Nārāyaṇa is the water: the true path, the word of Sai.

Born in water, the bubble grows in water and in water itself is dissolved. Man too is just so: born in Brahman itself, living in Brahman, he dissolves in Brahman.
