In plain words
Merely by forgetting Satya and worshipping the embodiment of Satya, one does not become an embodiment of Satya. So we must practise Satya. It is from this Satya that Dharma has arisen. Dharma is born from the level of our own heart. Dharma is that which gives satisfaction to oneself. This Dharma is self consciousness; we must have faith in this, the noblest life. No one should go against his own conscience. To go this way is itself a perversion. To act in keeping with the conscience is itself a good deed. To reach true satisfaction on the true path: that is worship. One thing in the mind and another in speech: this is not near to Divinity. So we must make mind, speech and action take on one and the same form.
For the sake of our living we suffer all these troubles, but God is One. Your forms and your doctrines are only your own; they do not belong to the collective form. The collective form itself is God. The very oneness present in all is Divinity. In every person Prema and Satya are present in full. A man without Prema is nowhere to be found in the world. This Prema can be brought into many different paths, but Prema itself is one. That Prema alone is God; that Prema alone is present in all. Do not follow a path contrary to that Prema. That is why, even though Divinity is worshipped in different forms, it is all-important to believe that principle to be the one principle of the Ātma. Flowers may be many; you must recognise the truth that the worship is one. In the same way, forms may be many; you must recognise that the principle of the Ātma is one. After that, what you have to recognise is one thing only.
Rid yourselves of the delusion that God is somewhere, in some place or other. Believe that "I am God." Look upon yourselves as God. Then there will be no room for taking any wrong path. Go on following the path of God. Believe that God is present in every man. Īśāvāsyam idaṃ sarvam, Vāsudevam idaṃ sarvam, Ekovasi sarvabhūtāntarātma. Though the Vedas and Upaniṣads proclaim it in so many ways, we fail to know it and ruin our lives in mere learning. One does not become a pundit merely by reading many books. One does not become a pundit merely by giving great lectures. One does not become a pundit merely by learning by heart the Vedas, Śāstras, Itihāsas and Purāṇas. Paṇḍitaḥ samadarśanaḥ, they said. Only one who has equal vision is a pundit. Such a pundit never takes a divided path. Pundits may wear bracelets.
